You’d think because you’ve seen it before it’d be boring, but that’s far from the truth. Disney is back at again showing us magic truly does exist in the real world.

The show may run on a lot of nostalgia, but oh boy does it work? Or does it work? Even though we know what to expect you're still left in awe at the beautiful story and amazing performance from the actors.

This live show has shown me that we can consider technology as a form of magic within reality. Disney is known for bringing magic to life and I’m telling you they’re truly onto something here.

The story is essentially the same, they kept all our favourite bits and we’re gifted with all our favourite characters. No Pascal sadly.

Rapunzel still dreams of seeing the lanterns on her birthday and dear old Flynn Ryder stumbles upon her whilst fleeing the town's guards. Only this time we see it right in front of us, but in my case, it's still on a screen. Unfortunately.

Disney’s cruise provided us with a beautiful gift last year July, by posting their Live show onto their YouTube channel, and I couldn’t be more grateful for falling onto this masterpiece.

They took advantage of being able to use projectors as a background and used that to animate their environment, truly manipulating the physics of reality. Not to mention the smoke that they used to pour across the stage that simulated the flow of water, it looked as if they were surrounded by the lake.

Disney saw the opportunity of using simple props like these and used it to their advantage, creating a stunning foreground with an amazing atmosphere. Not to mention their use of lights, which changed colour depending on the temperature or mood of each scene.

There is no doubt in my mind that the directors and scriptwriters were trying to maintain Disney’s legacy of bringing the magic to life because they did just that.

Don’t get me started on the amazing performance from Katie Whetsell, the actor who played mother Gothel and Elisha Ainsley the actor who played Rapunzel. Both ladies had breathtaking performances and beautiful voices when singing, truly a dynamic duo.

If you’re at home with the family I highly recommend turning on YouTube and searching for this gem because it's free, of the best quality and will definitely leave you feeling nostalgic. You’ve got nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
