The night sky blended in well with our dark outfits, we waited patiently behind the statue right across the street from the building, which towered over our bodies and taunted my bravery. My fist clenched the radio whilst sweat beads formed on the palms of my hands, encouraging my heart to dance beneath my rib cage. Turning to Rufus, I watched his eyes slowly raise to meet mine, the determination floated behind his pupils screaming for escape. He gave me a crooked smile and a slight nod of the head, proving to me and himself that he was ready… and I was too. Static started to emit from the radio along with Daniel’s voice.
“It’s on emergency lock down, you have 20 minutes. Its time…”
My eyes shot up to meet Rufus’, then Tris’, they were ready… and so was I. Rising from behind the statue I jolted across the street towards the fire exit door, I could hear their footsteps not far behind. My arm swung behind me, towards my belt and yanked off the small device Daniel made. Pressing its tiny button, I caused the red light to blink and let off a slight beeping sound. As we drew closer to the door, I tossed it onto the lock and watched as the light turned green, allowing the door to slowly swing open. We each filed into the dark room as the door began to close behind us. Sealing us in. I let out a hot puff of air and brought the radio towards my mouth, pressing its button.
“We’re in”
“Perfect, I’m zooming into your coordinates now. You should see a light switch to your left” flicking the switch, the lights began to highlight the corridor with various door on either side.
I watched as Tris crouched down and began to scavenge through her rucksack, her frizzy light brown hair bounced along with each movement she made, she clutched the tracker as she slowly removed it from her bag and handed it to me.
“Here, your gonna need this” she said, as her hazel eyes looked up at mine
“No, give it to Rufus, I’ve gotta lead us. No mistakes remember.” she gave me a nod of agreement and handed it to Rufus, his sausage like fingers pushed up his glasses on his nose, whilst he gave a slight twitch almost resembling the movement of a squirrel.
“Where to” I said, as I spoke into the radio.
“You guys, gotta take the lift. There should be one at the end of the corridor, you need to get to floor 65a, only 5 floors from the roof”
“Gotcha, this’ll be a piece of cake” I said, as we each began racing down the hall towards the door
“Keith, One more thing”
“Yeah” I answered
“When you find the hard drive, remember to upload a copy of it straight to my computer using the tracker. You know. As an insurance choice” He chuckled, and the corners of my lips began to rise. I never knew we’d get this far the disbelief flooded my soul, Skyrim will be no more. I looked at Tris, then at Rufus and they both looked at each other. With large grins on both their faces, they looked at me. I lifted the radio back to my lips.
“We got this.”
